What we did
On the evening of 25 September the fix went live: every crawler now gets the page title in the head, and most of our pages got new titles that say what each page is. The same evening I submitted all 32 changed pages to Brave by hand, and we sent them to Bing through IndexNow.

search.brave.com/submit-url. One URL at a time.Eight of those pages got a second round of title edits later that evening, so the next morning I submitted those eight again.
Brave took some of them overnight
MeasuredThe next morning, site:laup.ai on Brave showed our homepage with its real title for the first time we have seen.

Some of the pages weren't recrawled by Brave since Simon had submitted them earlier that day: pricing, AI agents and agencies, fetched 15 minutes before the fix went live. So it is noted that spamming the submitting is not useful.
Claude sees the new titles
MeasuredClaude searches Brave, so whatever Brave has, Claude gets. In our nightly run the next morning, 10 of the 11 results from laup.ai in Claude's searches carried the page's current title. In the two weeks before, 54 of 78 were just “Laup” or “laup.ai wordmark”.
| Page | Before | Morning after |
|---|---|---|
/ | laup.ai wordmark | Laup GEO and AI visibility: see whether AI recommends you |
/ai-visibility | Laup | AI visibility tracking for ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot - Laup |
/geo-audit | Laup | GEO audit for online shops: start with the free scan - Laup |
These are mostly pages Claude already found before. It now reads them under a name that says what they are.
But it is not finding us more often
MeasuredEven if Claude now fetched the pages with correct titles we did not appear more often.
- The titles are now correct in the Brave search index, but the ranking has not been reindexed?
- Brave search is not sensitive to titles?
- Claude is not sensitive to titles?
What we do know is that almost every time Claude finds us it mentions us.
A few pages did show up in Claude's searches for the first time: About, Methodology, the AI Visibility Index and one Norwegian methodology page.
Renamed is not the same as ranked
InferredA search index does two different jobs. It stores what each page is: its title and an excerpt. When Brave fetches a page again, that record is updated, and that is what happened overnight. Then, for every search, it ranks the pages it has. The title is one input to that. Others are links to the page, how long the index has known it, and how people respond when it is shown.
We don't know how Brave weighs those, or how quickly a new title feeds into where a page ranks. What we can see is that one night renamed our pages without moving us up overall. That fits a ranking that changes more slowly than the record, and it is also what we would see if titles were never what held us back.
Measured We never recorded where Brave ranked us before the fix, so we started now. Today we are first on Brave for three searches that match one of our pages almost word for word, such as “GEO-audit nettbutikk Norge”, and not in the top 40 for four broad ones, such as “AI-synlighet nettbutikk”. Those broad searches are the ones that matter, and they are what we will compare against.
Next entry: the two-week result. The first entry is Claude thought our homepage was called “laup.ai wordmark”, and more experiments on our own site are collected under How we work with our AI visibility.
