The fix told Brave our pages come in pairs
InferredThe title fix moved our page metadata to the top of the page, where every crawler reads it. With it came the language tags that say /no/geo-audit and /geo-audit are the same page in two languages, with English as the default. Before, they sat deep in the page, where Brave probably missed them.
Outside Norway, Brave hides our Norwegian pages
MeasuredI searched site:laup.ai/no on Brave and changed only the region.

Claude searches from outside Norway
InferredI asked the Claude app on my phone, in Norwegian, to search the title of our Norwegian page /no/geo-audit. First hit: /geo-audit, in English.

We then searched the titles of all 22 Norwegian pages that have an English twin through Claude's search. It returned the Norwegian page 0 times. So Claude searches without Norway, either with no region or as the US, we don't know which. For a Norwegian question the English page is often a poor match, so sometimes Claude doesn't find us at all.
What we lost
MeasuredClaude cited laup.ai 60 times in 60 days. 48 were Norwegian pages with an English twin. How often they showed up in its searches:
| Night | Norwegian results | English results |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 25 Sep | 2 to 8 | 2 to 8 |
| 26 Sep | 2 | 20 |
| 27 Sep | 2 | 24 |
| 28 Sep | 0 | 34 |
| 29 Sep | 0 | 30 |
From 21 to 25 September, Claude cited our Norwegian front page every day on “Finnes det en norsk plattform …”. Since 26 September, not once. In total Claude cites us about as often as before. For now.
Next: which change brings them back
On 29 September we split our page pairs into three groups and sent all 44 pages to Brave:
- 9 pairs: tag removed, each page stands alone.
- 8 pairs: tag kept, but Norwegian is now the default.
- 5 pairs: untouched, as a control.
Only the first group back: Claude searches as an English-language user. The second group back too: Claude searches with no region. The control back too: Brave just needed a fresh look. Nothing back within two weeks: the tags were not the cause.
Next entry: the result. Earlier in this series: Claude thought our homepage was called “laup.ai wordmark” and one night later, renamed, not ranked higher. More experiments on our own site are under How we work with our AI visibility.
